BlockWorld v1.5 News + Changelog!
The v1.5 update is complete, and will be available for download on Xbox 360 and Windows 8 PC within 7-14 days.
This update is months worth of hard work, and progress on the Hazzah Engine that has resulted in a colossal amount of bug fixes, new features and performance improvements. At the base of this post, the change log is also posted.
It is worth mentioning also, that the v1.4 update intended to be a maintenance update between v1.3 for Xbox and Windows 8 and v1.5 has been rolled into the v1.5 update.
Top 3 Features:
1) New creative inventory system. 3 Separate windows replaced with 2 windows, with 11 windows worth of content.
2) Vertical slabs, and Horizontal slabs are a new way to build without the traditional 1x1x1 size limit. 9 Permutations of each ensure maximum creative potential.
3) Performance improvements, that increase the idle frame rate by almost 200%, reduce micro-stutters and improve stability in high stress environments such as large multiplayer sessions, and thousands of simultaneous explosions.
This update continues to make BlockWorld a unique experience, and gives world builders a much larger toolbox to work with, and gives us at 2.0 Studios a great base to add dozens of new permutations to the creative roster. See the vertical slabs? Notice there are 3 kinds of wood, stone and also dirt? The engine supports these in EVERY non Alpha permutation! Want book shelf vertical slab? Want dynamite slab? Let us know!
Getting an exact block count for BlockWorld is now impossible. How should we count it? Core types such as ladders, steps, thin, thick and vertical slabs multiplied by permutations? Do you consider ever separate colour to be a permutation of what it is applied to, like Minecraft’s colours? Do you count theoretical types that could be added by console? Or empty spaces on the sprite sheet that could be filled by modders? Either way, it’s in the thousands, and our customers will disagree on the best way to count them.

Behold, Tarmac! Requested by the BlockWorld community, so we added it. Anything you would like to see added?
Another change is the way the Dyes work. Dyes are now additive, with approx. 5 stages of colour before reaching full intensity. Mix and match various colours to achieve new shades, and variations of existing blocks and permutations in your worlds. Existing dyes in worlds will be retained in this new update.
The save format has also been modified. This is a direct response to Windows 8 users modifying game files, and accessing save data of v1.3 of BlockWorld. We’ve busted down the limitation of 5 Singleplayer and (5 Multiplayer for Xbox) worlds! Worlds now require unique names, and are stored in an infinite scrolling list. If you know where to find the files, you can fish them out and share them. We’ll devise something a little more user friendly later on, but you PC guys are already proving to be pretty DIY. We embrace that.
We’ve also made a discovery on Xbox. Images taken with the camera are saved in high resolution among the world data. The trick to getting these out is usage of a little Xbox modding tool named “Modio“. You can bust through the encryption on flash keys with BlockWorld saves, retrieve the isolated storage and crack it open to reveal the tasty save files within. Fun fact: Shove this data into the storage location on Windows 8, and you’ve just migrated save data from Xbox to PC! We’ve had no luck moving save data the other way though.
Important Notice: We don’t officially support this. If you corrupt your world, violate your warranty or set fire to your car, we won’t help you. However here’s the tools, so go nuts and be sure to make lots of backups.
This post is already masive. Time to chop it off! See you guys with CraftWorld news very soon! (And remember, all of these additions, and improvements to BlockWorld and the Hazzah Engine also effect CraftWorld)
Thanks for reading!

v1.5 Change log [BlockWorld Xbox/Windows 8]
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The v1.5 update was a huge stability and performance update, with an excessive amount of new content added at the same time.
Note: The v1.4 update was scheduled to be an update released betwixt v1.3 and v1.5, but due to large engine changes, and additional game breaking bugs found by peer reviewers and testers, this update was cancelled and became a part of v1.5.

When will I get craftworld wp7 UPDATE?????????????????
SOON.
what about getting into a raft while in water causes you to stand behind the raft and when riding the raft do you no longer move forwards slowly?
Will craftworld be available on Windows 8? I have searched and can’t find the answer, By the way, great work on Blockworld. Glad I could help support you with a purchase. Keep up the great work.
BlockWorld is already on Windows 8, but we are still wrapping up the v1.5 patch for it.
Thankyou very much for your support, I love seeing happy customers.
Thank you very much for your reply, but I ask if “craftworld” would be on Windows 8? I can only find it on Windows Phone. I purchased Blockworld on Windows 8 and look forward to doing the same with “craftworld” hopefully.
CraftWorld arrived on Windows phone November 2011, so that we could optimise for the restrictive specifications of Gen 1 phones. Although this did not make us much money, it did allow us to condition the Hazzah Engine to run on lower spec devices, with lower memory and graphics requirements.
We’ll be releasing Craftworld on the “Bigger” platforms soon. Keep an eye on this blog, and thanks again.
awesome game but,got the latest update for the x-box last nite and now get random freezes during loading and during play and fatal save errors..couldn’t even play.{multiplayer} didn’t try single player….
We spent about 5 hours yesterday joining other people online, to see how things were going, and have found the source of 3 crash bugs. They are all multiplayer related, so single player is crash free.
We’re working on a patch right now to address the issues, and should have it out in a few days.
This game is amazing!
But I only found 1 bug on the PC version, with version 1.3. When I load a saved world, the game quits or hides its self and shows the Windows Start Screen.
Which slot is your world in?
so block world v1.5 is not out yet for Windows 8?
Are you almost done with block world v.1.5 for windows 8
It’s actually being pushed up to the v1.6 update.
