Busy on the next patch.

We’ve been chasing up some feedback we’ve been emailed, messaged or left on the reviews page for CraftWorld (both versions) and are working on improving the engine. The deep down core stuff involving inventory managment, objects (smelter, rez stone, picks etc…) works, but can be difficult to extend. We’ll clean it up, reduce refactor and re-use as much as we can.  When the next feature update goes live, we should be able to cram in more features, faster.

At the moment, it seems CraftWorld is doing quite well for features regarding block types and craftable items. It’s time we began something big, we will have this next update ready within a day or two.

Will terrain generation ever be improved and more interesting? I don’t have the game but from what I see the terrain generation is relatively basic and looks similar to the original CastleMiner terrain generation. I’d like to see some breathtaking landscapes like in MC and waterfalls. You can do better than MC imo.

Oh yes, The terrain you see now is just the basic first layer. No biomes or seams of material are present. At the very least we need forests some time soon. Funny you should mention waterfalls, we were discussing the water propogation in regards to waterfalls and how “foam” particles are needed at the base.

Either way, my point is that what you see is just early stuff. At the time of this writing, it’s been for sale for less than a month, and we intend to spend 2012 at least on CraftWorld.
