What is this?!?!
This is a smaller block game genre title, released early. It still supports many big features from CraftWorld, plus a few extra features unique to BlockWorld and the Xbox 360:
- Infinitely generated worlds.
- Floating island, flatlands and Middle Earth terrain
- Realtime Physics
- Creative building with over 90 different blocks and items
- Dyes to tint a variety of blocks
- Day and Night cycles with sunsets
- HD Water
- Tiny price tag.

Why is this?!?!
CraftWorld is a massive game, with creatures, crafting, survival and a full RPG system coming soon. Instead of making you wait another few months for its release, we’ve opted to carve off a nice hunk for you to enjoy now. It’s been polished and tested to ensure it is a quality is standalone experience which will have you building for hours and hours.
Secondly, multiplayer is absolutely crucial to our games being a success. We’ve heard it time and time again that “You have potential” and “Pls add Multiplayer now!” So we are giving in to the pressure of the consumers, and fast tracking Multiplayer to the top of our priorities. But a fully-fledged survival mode with real-time physics, smelters, swords and zombies? That is a HUGE task! So we are working on a smaller creative multiplayer first, and need more testing than Aperture Science ever did!
Thus, BlockWorld is a complete, fully featured single player game for the Xbox 360! In BlockWorld, you can build castles, fortresses, explore valleys and oceans, play with physics, dye sand and snow funny colors and so much much more. Multiplayer is coming very very soon as well. Survival mode, with Crafting, farming, RPG elements, magic and more complex Bethesda style features is coming soon in the seperate release of CraftWorld. Which us to the next point…
Support CraftWorld!
If you have ANY love for CraftWorld whatsoever, get your blocky little fingers onto BlockWorld as soon as you can. Play it, build things and tell your friends. Email us any bugs you find, post on the forums any glitches or uglies that may be lurking deep in the engine. Your feedback will improve CraftWorld, and your financial support will buy us more Coffee and Ramen noodles to keep going, and even commission a talented Artist to give us a fresh new look in the near future.

What does this mean?
We are sick of making you guys wait for CraftWorld. We demand that you guys have a chance to play our game right now, way before it is fully done. The terrain, physics and building code is done and ready to go, but multiplayer is not ready yet. And just before we give you guys multiplayer, we need to make sure that the game is ready for you all to spend hundreds of hours on your prized creations.
So we have are letting you guys have an early go, by making Creative Mode a seperate, complete experience. Here is a small history and list of all of the different versions of CraftWorld are out there. I have also added all of the seperate games, made FROM CraftWorld:
1) Engine Test [PC] : Will this game work? Can other people play it? The first iteration of the engine needed testing! Huge success, and note was made here.
2) CraftWorld [WP7] : First release. Using the confines of portable hardware to force us to make a lean, low resource demanding engine.
3) CraftWorld FREE [WP7] : The WP7 crowd demanded it be free. We obliged, and the advertisements help us pay the rent.
4) CraftWorld BETA [WP7] : We needed a way to test BIG WP7 patches for bugs before we released them to tens of thousands of CraftWorld FREE and PAID customers.
5) BlockWorld [X360] : The people have demanded an Xbox BETA, and that the wait for CraftWorld be over. We need a wide scale Multiplayer/Engine test!
There are still more coming up, such as the PC version, and the full CraftWorld Xbox experience. Don’t be confused, this is how we are tackling the “Release Early, Release Often” approach.
CraftWorld vs BlockWorld?
You, the fans have been screaming at 2.0 Studios to give you guys an Xbox 360 BETA of CraftWorld. The XBLIG marketplace, and also the full Xbox Arcade and games on demand services for the Xbox require that all games be in a fit, complete state. We can’t throw you a super-secret download link to a half-finished and slightly buggy survival game on the Xbox. It’s just not possible, allowed or recommended in any way. It is against the rules, and impossible to make an Xbox BETA of CraftWorld.
So a complete game, focusing on what we need tested is what is called for. Block placement, lighting, inventory management, loading times and save integrity are all important features we need tested. So we have made BlockWorld. It is a complete and ready to play game. But we are aiming to learn from it. To learn from the comments you post. The emails you send. The youtube videos you make. It is like BETA for CraftWorld, but instead of getting something buggy and not finished, BlockWorld is ready to go.
We just need your help to test.
Multiplayer Update?
Oh yes. This is the first update for BlockWorld, and we are already working on it. The new save system can send little bits of save files across the internet really fast because the save files are TINY. Memory consumption has been slashed by over 90% under all circumstances and the first preliminary multiplayer sessions have been played, enjoyed and declared a rampant success.
Within 1-2 weeks, in late August, we will be updating BlockWorld to have full creative multiplayer. You may have up to five multiplayer worlds that you can host. Others can join you, or be invited to help get that dungeon done. What features do you want? What gametypes do you need? Discuss with us in our forums.
Smaller maintenance updates will be released if needed, but we only promise the Multiplayer update. We will be increasing the price on the 26th of August 2012 at 11:59pm, so get BlockWorld while it’s cheap! The 2.0 Codebox feature will also be patched into BlockWorld. Customers of BlockWorld will receive bonus content in CraftWorld as a “Thankyou” for supporting us. Like a sweet texture pack, cape or a flaming hat to show off your awesomeness. We want to do our best to look after customers who back for more and help us out.
But I’m a PC!
You are not forgotten. CraftWorld was first on the PC before all other platforms, although we have always promised to be on Xbox, Windows Phone 7 and Windows PC. We are meeting our own high set goals and harsh demands. Remember that, and we’ll be back on PC again soon. We’ll be everywhere soon. There will be nowhere to hide.
Note: The Hazzah Engine has been built from the ground up with modders and creativity in mind.
MOAR!

Thankyou for reading, I really do thankyou a lot this time. This was a long one.
EDIT: As based on the feedback we have received, I have edited portions of this post to make the boundries between CraftWorld and BlockWorld clearer. They are seperate games. But the reports and money from BlockWorld, supports CraftWorld development.
OMG!!!!!! finally!!!!! I will get up at 12:01am to purchase!!! (does a little retarded dance) XD
I’m glad you’re as excited as we are! It may not be at exactly that time, as it depends on what part of the world, how many people are downloading etc… but it should.nt be more than a few hours difference.
Alright, I’m a little confused. Is there going to be multiplayer on WP7? It says so in the Coming Soon part, but I’m not sure if it means WP7 too.
Lolololololo icantwaittillmultiplayer!!!!!!!! What about the wp7 version and will there be a server that you made? Omgicantwaittillmultiplayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Downloaded the game about 4 days ago and I must say guys, you’ve done an excellent job! I’m amazed at how well you guys have done with the physics and all. There’s tons more I could say about how amazing the initial release is, but It’s 2:17 AM where I live and I can’t be bothered haha.
Bottom line, the game is great and “has a lot of potential”!
I haven’t been playing it a lot though due to it not having multiplayer. When that updates arrives, I’ll give it a look. I’m hoping you guys will do a lot with the Xbox360 version!
We are getting a fucken’ huge response from the Xbox 360 release of BlockWorld. People are loving it! We’re pumped for multiplayer, and working on getting our save system locked down. So it’s BlockWorld/CraftWorld development simulateously again. It’s a wierd feeling having one foot on the WP7, and one Foot on the Xbox with games that are sepereate, but share code.

Try the forums Jerry.
Just asking whether split screen would be added along multiplayer? I’ve been an avid craftworld fan and can’t wait to get this game tomorrow. If split screen was added, would it be possible for an online guest mode? Just some question I wanna know answers too
keep up the good work

Split screen? We’ve been de-locking the hazzah engine from it’s single player approach where we can to support this. The memory consumption is a real concern though, as two people with two sets of regions in memory will cause issues. So it’ll put a dent in your draw distance. A guest account would be great. Halo 2′s guest system is what pressured me into getting my own XBL account.
Ah ok I see. Either way will get this game asap!!! Still got FIFA 13 and forza horizon to get first though. Keep up the good work!
THIS GAME IS WELL GOOD IVE ALREADY CREATED A CASTLE
PICS OR GTFO
Seriously though, I’d love to see your creation.
